This study was the trial of the special instrument known as The Prognostic
Assessment Scale of probable Term of the Onset of Remission (PASTOR). This tool was designed by the authors in 2016 and explored as an
additional tool for the assessment of the duration of psychotic and
sub-psychotic stages of the exacerbation in old patients with dementia of
various types. 88 men and 54 women, all of them were in-patients were included
in the study. They were observed in acute psychosis, within the sub-psychotic stage
and remission.
Study results: There was found out that PASTOR was useful and convenient prognostic
instrument. It had good internal consistency and the significant predicting
ability. The prognoses were exact in more than 80% of cases. In addition, the
low total scores had being indicated about the insufficiency of the therapeutic
measures.
Conclusion: The assessment with PASTOR gives the possibility of therapeutic
predicting and to individual adjusting the antipsychotic pharmacotherapy.
